The Amazing Emma Kay

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Last week my special girl Emma turned 14. She is one of the most absolutely amazing kids I have ever met, or ever heard of for that matter! Her heart is so big and open and beautiful. She takes challenges in life as something to overcome, not something to pull her down. She sees beauty in place others miss it. She is an old soul who loves to cook when her heart is feeling down.

Emma loves to play volleyball, bake, make videos, play the piano and saxophone and most of all to help others. The other day she seriously asked me why community service would ever be a punishment for a crime because to her that is a reward!

Dear Emma,
You are a true and honest gift from God. Your love for others and especially your family reflects Jesus in a way to me that I have rarely seen in others. When friends let you down or when life gets incredibly tough here at home, remember “there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother” that will never leave you. Though I may disappoint you at times and your life may look different than others, you were beautifully and wonderfully made. Thank you for being my best friend and for trusting me and still talking with me even though you are growing up and *almost* taller than me and definitely cooler than me ;) and thanks for being crazy and silly and letting me post these amazing pictures that show your personality so well! I love you for always!

Love,
Mom
