If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

—James 1:5

Greetings from MAF headquarters in Nampa, Idaho!!  This is going to be a quick update letting you know what we’ve been up to this week in our learning and preparation for going overseas.

We had five weeks of training last summer that was jam packed full of info (you can read about that here).  Then, Jack did three off site aviation schools Jan-Feb and then six weeks of aircraft maintenance standardization here at HQ March-April.  Now, we are in our final two weeks at HQ before departure.  Just thought I’d catch you up a bit :)  Below I have listed the things we have done so far this week.

  • Meeting with the MAF president and his wife to hear stories of their successes and struggles overseas
  • Debrief session with our Ministry Partnership Coaches (prayer and financial support coach)
  • Bridges study by the Crescent Project on Christians connecting with Muslims
  • Health Care benefits overseas and how that all works
  • Cost of living in our new country and what expenses and pay will look like
  • Spiritual Warfare classes and individual solitude time for reflection, confession and renunciation of sin
  • Parenting seminars on walking in faith, discipline, safeguarding our child from abuse, etc.
  • Individual and group counseling on mental health
  • Marriage counseling and strategy sessions including non-violent communication techniques, listening styles, healthy sex in marriage.
  • Lastly, the kids have had their individual training every day to talk about and process their feelings about moving overseas and finding techniques to help the transition.

Phew!  So. much. good. info.  We are so thankful for all the training we are receiving.

We’d love to say a quick thank you for your prayer and financial support that has provided for us to be a part of this.  We feel privileged and honored to serve the Lord in this way.

We’ll try to keep you updated!  As always, we update more frequently on our Facebook page with pictures, quick snippets and prayer requests if you’d like to check it out.  Also, comments and emojis are always so encouraging to me that there are people actually reading this so please do so :)
