New Year’s in Ethiopia

Dear Judah,

It’s a new year where you are and though you have no idea about us or what this year will bring you, we want you to know that you are already loved.  You’re probably sleeping in the orphanage right now and when you wake up tomorrow you won’t even realize the possibilities that 2012 already holds for you.  We’re fighting with everything we have to get you home as soon as possible.  Today is also Uncle Ross’ birthday and in a huge act of generosity he has dedicated his birthday to you this year.  We’re having a party and celebrating and he’s asked everyone to give a gift to bring you home instead of giving something directly to him.  Do you understand?  You are a gift not only to Daddy, Emma, Jackson, Laila & I but to our friends and to the rest of your family here.  You are loved.  I wish you sweet dreams and hope for a life of learning and love.  I miss you.
