The Paperwork Race

We received these deadlines for our paperwork but then got an email that CARA was questioning our “pipeline” status because we didn’t have our dossier or acceptance papers in yet.  So I turned into a paperwork fool hounding people (sorry if I offended anyone, I’m a desperate momma!) and even went as far as to contact a friend’s mom here in MI to go over and be able to use her printer.  We are still two documents shy of a complete dossier but they said to send whatever we have and then send the rest ASAP.  So today is our dossier day I guess….. yay!!  I had foolishly thought that when she said she needed our acceptance papers it was just going to be our adoption agreement or the acceptance paper she had me draw up and send last Friday but nooooo it was a whole other pack of legal papers that have to be signed, documents created, projects to be completed and one state certified document all the while having the ticking clock of them questioning and needing them ASAP.  AAAAHH!  But I stayed up last night with all the papers laid out on the table going over every instruction with a fine tooth comb trying to make sure  I was doing them correctly and I think we’re almost done with them.  We need to sign and notarize them and then create our photo album and video to Ranjit.  They are asking us to send them everything as we complete it rather than waiting till all is done like the instructions say to try to speed things up.  I overnighted the document that needs to be state certified to Jack yesterday (which of course didn’t get there today!!) so he could complete it and get it down to Indy.  I’ve been a bit overwhelmed this week with all these deadlines but when I look at the fact that I get to send him a video of us this soon or as I sat and wrote my first letter to him last night I can’t help but just get SOO excited!  We’re really going to get our son!  After everything that happen I just have had such a hard time letting my heart get excited again but little by little this is really beginning to be real to me!

Please be in prayer that we can get these last few documents for our dossier tomorrow or Friday to send out right away.  Please also pray that I did all these acceptance papers correctly since I had to do them in such a hurry.  I got an email today from USCIS that they have received our 800A application and will be processing it.  I emailed them (since I have a case number now to reference) and asked how long they think it will take since  we don’t have to fingerprint again and they said it’s the same as if we did have to.  Should be 45-60 days but could be 90.  We’re hoping CARA will accept our dossier without it for now until it comes.
