We were honored to be a part of the Walk for Orphans in our town last Friday night. What a blessing it was to see so many people come out and the kicker was that it was raining and storming and people walked anyway! We’re grateful to see so many people be so dedicated to bringing all these kiddos home. I’ve been so grateful to see the way our friends and family support us and our son.
Our friend Jill that we’ve spoke of before will be leaving this week to pick her daughter up in China so please be in prayer for them. She posted on her facebook this week about how it is the beginning of Lexie’s last week in her orphanage. Things like that just hit so hard to me. We’re so close and I’m getting to the point where we’re HOPEFULLY having some of our lasts too. We’re not planning too much for the middle to end of October because we’re hoping beyond hope that we’ll be in India. I feel very at peace about court this week and God has blessed us so much with having lots of things going on to make the time go quickly. I’ve also been so blessed that we’ve been able to help out other families too because I feel that people have done so much for us and I want so badly to return the favor. That’s one of the reasons why I was so happy to be a part of the Walk for Orphans because it wasn’t just about us. It was four families going through the same things as us and we were all working together (while Matthew and Amanda did most of the work though, THANK YOU GUYS!) I also loved that Laila was able to be a part of it and walk for other orphans alongside so many of her adopted friends too. There were so many kids there that knew just what it meant to struggle and finally find your forever family and it was touching watching all of them walk for kids to have what they do.
Another unbelievable blessing over the weekend was that we had two different families approach us and give us VERY generous donations toward bringing RJ home. Donations for adoption is a very controversial thing and I have struggled with it as I know many think it is inappropriate. I wrote about it here. God has blessed ABUNDANTLY and I don’t see how I could say no to people offering and following God calling them to give. We’re very open and honest about the finances of this adoption and we have a benefit account set up that we run funds through that we don’t even have access to. We’re trying to do it the right way. Enough on that subject.
So, tomorrow night should be the big night. I pray that I will receive the news we’ve been so desperately waiting to hear when my phone hopefully rings on Thursday morning. We mailed our visa applications and passports up the Indian consulate in Chicago yesterday. They’re good for six months so I’m trusting God to bring our son home in that time. Please pray with us .
We also sent Ranjit another little package today with Cars tatoos, gum and a few pictures. Hope he is excited to hear from us :)
