Pre-op Day One

Well this morning at 6:15 Laila and Jack left for he hospital.  She giggled her way into each of her sibling rooms and woke them up to say goodbye.

I was able to spend the morning and afternoon today with the big kids since I’m not sure when I will be seeing them again.  I will head down to Riley this evening.  Honestly, not too sad that daddy got to be the one to take care of her during the clean out today ;)

Before she left each of the older kids prayed over her.  It was their idea.  They are amazing and that was a few of the most beautiful moments of my life.

We went to church today even though my instinct is to hide because I can be emotionally and socially awkward in heavy situations.  I let a group of close friends pray over me while I sobbed and was washed over with the Holy Spirit.  Then I had two beautifully amazing women of God standing next to me holding my hands while I worshipped our loving Father with silent admiration.  Pretty good morning I would say :)

So what they are doing today is hooking her up to a med called GoLYTELY.  Funny name :)  This was the same med they used to clean out her intestines for the motility study in January.  We also had them hook her up to the IV already.  Sometimes they will wait to do that until surgery when they are put under so they don’t feel it but when we did this in January that method did not work out well.  As she was on the med I could see her personality disappearing by the hour because the process was completely dehydrating her.

As you can see, so far that has not happened today :)  Thanks daddy for the picture of our girl!

So far so good.  Surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30 eastern.
