VISITOR RESTRICTIONS and other Thursday tales.

Starting tomorrow no children under 18 are allowed to visit at all and we were only allowed 5 adults visitors that we had to list for them. These are going into effect for all IU Health hospitals for now. We are so so grateful for all the love but please do not drive here to visit without checking with us first.

It has been a very quiet, peaceful rest of the day. Sedation and intubation bring that I guess. I hate seeing her like this but if it will give her time for her body to heal without setting us back to writhing pain and fighting destats then I will take it. I guess. Still processing….

It’s hard to talk about the surgery because they really didn’t see exactly why she was obstructed again. It was more guessing. They changed around the things they thought “might” have caused it but couldn’t guarantee we wouldn’t end up back in the OR again soon.

The big kids were here today and some chose to see Laila and some chose not to. She’s a pretty overwhelming site for a sibling. We talked with them and told them their feelings are valid and we will respect whatever they choose. They are so amazing. Send a prayer for the ones who saw her, and their hearts and minds as they process that image tonight.

Hoping for some rest for Jack and I tonight.
