So her belly kept getting more and more distended and hard so the main surgeon decided her body needed a break and discontinued the feeds for the day. But…. Not soon enough.
Early this afternoon she started to get really gaggy and ended up vomiting about a liter of bile. She had been miserable in pain. We put her gtube to gravity and more just kept pouring out and remember that is a one way valve so if stuff is coming out that means there is A LOT of pressure in her poor belly.
So we are back to square one again. Cannot feed her until we figure this out and even then we have to let her stomach rest a few days before we would start again and then go even slower.
We’re gonna be here awhile :( not that we haven’t been already. Did I mention 17 days earlier, oh yes I did. Boo!
I’m not a fan of the sit and wait program any longer so I begged the doctor to try to find answers. He decided to do a CT scan. Slight chance they could see anything but I’ll take slight. Bad part about that was that we had to pump her already full stomach with 300ml of liquid mixed with contrast. I laid with her, rubbing her tummy, pushing the fentanyl pain button everytime it would light up and waited that hour and a half until it was all in and we could go to the scan. We made it there and back without vomiting and then the nurse was able to drain most of it back out of her tummy.
She sleeps on and off but still has a huge tummy and lots of pain. Please keep praying as we wait for those results.
