I needed a break from the hospital this weekend and wanted to make Emma, Jackson and RJ feel special so we got out and went on some adventures.
Saturday they got spoiled by Ronald McDonald house volunteers with made to order breakfast. RJ even got a batman pancake to match his pajamas! Then we stopped by to see Laila and let Judy out for Jack. The people mover was actually going so we rode that to Methodist and back. These kids are so easy to entertain!
Then we headed over to the Indiana State Museum. A friend reminded me that our Museum of Science and Industry memberships is reciprocal there so it was free! The kids liked the retro arcade the best :)
In the afternoon I called Beef and Boards theater about getting tickets to a Junie B Jones play that afternoon but it was sold out. About 10 minutes later the attendant called me back and said he is a Riley sibling and knows what these three kids are feeling and he wanted to give us his employee tickets for Saturday night’s show! We got to go to dinner theater and see Sister Act! It was so fun!
Sunday we went to church at Trader’s Point and that was great then we headed to the Children’s museum and then back to The Park At Trader’s Point to burn off the last of the energy before they headed back home with Jack.
To be honest… I overdid it. I’m trying to compensate for everything going on with Laila and I tried to cram as much stuff into one bit of time as I could but I ended up a little crabby and overwhelmed :( Our kids are SOOO easy going and barely ever ask for anything so they probably would’ve been happy with the people mover and ordering pizza. Lesson learned and I’ll do better next time. Can’t wait to see them again.
Children are a blessing from the Lord. They are like arrows in the hands of a warrior. Psalm 127:3-4
