Today’s pros:

-Catheter is out of the Monti.
-I already feel really comfortable with doing the intermittent catheters and emptying the ostomy myself.
-Charlie Brown slowed the dumping and cleared out all the contrast.
-Her stomach looks better and less distended.
-Her main surgeon continues to be very sensitive and cautious.
-Because of less tubes, I laid in bed with her and snuggled today.
-They have cut her respiratory treatments back to just the one we do at home twice a day. Her lungs have been great for a week now!
-We have a great night nurse back tonight and Laila has a crush on her helper, Marcus
-we found window paint and did a little more decorating today :) We are told every day we have the best decorated room in the hospital :)

Today’s cons:

-Lots of wet diapers from bladder spasms instead of getting it all with the catheter
-Another spot on one of the incisions is all blistered up and infected.
-The antibiotic they were using off the infection was wrong and the one they need to use is incompatible with the TPN and possibly the fentanyl.
-Our day nurse was very unattentive and forgot a lot of things today….. Including calling the pharmacy and finding out that the new antibiotic was not compatible so she got a dose already which could be dangerous…
-Laila now speaks the new language of whine. All day. We are working on getting manners and kindness back. Yes, I’m tough on my kids.

So tomorrow begins feedings…. Keep praying!

Philippians 4:11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance. I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment, whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing. I am able to do all things through the one who strengthens me.
