The day of surprises

Here are the quick clif notes:

They came to get us first thing this morning instead of later.

My parents were going to be here to wait with me during surgery but since it was earlier I thought I’d be alone until I walked in and saw a friend sitting there waiting during his daughter’s surgery. God is so cool.

When I got called into consultation after the procedure I got the news that she needed a total revision instead and had to make a decision and sign consents right then.

The surgery went well and he hopes it has been fixed.

He was realistic with me that this may be a recurrent problem that will have to be fixed periodically :(

Recovery room didn’t scare me and I held my own taking care of my baby despite those stupid orange fish.

She’s already awake and happy to be talking to her daddy on the phone.
