F is for February

Have I mentioned that I hate February. I do not think there has been a February that we have known Laila that we haven’t had a hospital stay. I thought maybe the ambulance ride, seizures and two ER visits were gonna be our February stupidness for this year but no such luck. Another case of the februaries :(

Laila has been having abdominal pain every night for almost the past two months. Some nights are much worse than others but I would say she has slept through the night maybe three times since just after the first of the year. She wakes up crying and saying her tummy hurts and sometimes we can get her to settle back down quickly but other times not so much. We have tried a few new meds but they haven’t worked so here we are, inpatient in February…. again.

They are going to observe her and do some tests and see if they can see where the pain is coming from.

This momma needs sleep. For real. Laila somehow did not get the memo that I don’t do infant sleeping. I had two infants who each slept through the night very quickly (5wks and 7wks) and I then I chose to adopt older children because…. you guessed it folks, I don’t do baby. So, if you’ve seen me lately and I’m grouchy, blame it on whoever forgot to give Laila the memo ;)

But in seriousness, could you pray that she’d have a few horrible nights? Yep, horrible. I’m so afraid that she is gonna be just fine here and then go home and start back up again. I want it to be something quick and easy and we’ll be on our merry way. Ok now I’m the one forgetting the Laila memo on how nothing is ever easy. Well played Laila…… well played….
