For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
—Psalm 139:13-14
Dear Emma,
You are one of the bravest, most resilient, beautiful girls I have ever had the privilege to know. I might be bias, but I think many people will agree this is true.
How are you 17 today?? Where did all the time go??
Thank you for being a girl who is still willing to talk to her mom. Thank you for sharing your heart, your dreams, your sorrows and your faith with me.
Thank you for going on all these crazy adventures with our family. I know it is not always easy but I appreciate the way you truly seek the Lord and His direction and are willing to follow even when it’s hard.
Thank you for being such a hard worker. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone more diligent. School doesn’t come natural to you but you work hard and receive top grades. You decided that volleyball would be a great way to make friends when moving overseas as an 11th grader. So, you practiced all summer and made the Varsity team and just got to taste the success of being a tournament champion!
Thank you for sharing my love of travel. At 17, you’ve already been all over the world and this is only just the beginning. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. to see what God has planned for you.
Sweet, Emma. I get you for 1.5 more years here in Indonesia with me. Let’s make the most of it before the USA gets you back!
We love you to the moon and back. Always.
Love,
Your momma
