How’s that for a wake up call :) Nothing on her face but a smile.
She’s doing great from a respiratory standpoint. The ICU dr wanted her weaned down on….. Some setting?? It was a different machine than we had used before. Well, the nurse asked RT in the middle of the night and they said that setting doesn’t come down so maybe just take off the mask and see what happens….. That was at 4am and she’s been staying in the high 90’s without even the nasal canula. So amazing! God is good!
She’s been a roller coaster of emotions. We’re getting more consistent smiles when we tease her but she’s also been doing a lot of crying. To be expected.
The feeding yesterday went ok. They did 15ml every three hours which is barely anything but because of that we can add oral (gtube) pain meds that help. Finding the positives…
She had a really rough night in a pain standpoint, we barely slept. It is waves of pain like before…. Makes me SUPER nervous for another obstruction. When she had her morning chest X-ray the tech mentioned to the nurse that she saw a lot of gas in her intestines. I mentioned all this to the doctors in rounds this morning and their answer was… Let’s increase her feedings. Did I mention I’m SUPER nervous about what we are already doing and the bad things we are already seeing happen with her belly?? Gonna turn that one over to the Lord and watch her very closely today.
Here’s to hoping for a day of smiles from Laila and gas from Charlie Brown!
