Well we had to end up doing an NG tube to drain the contents of her stomach. The g-tube can’t do that because it really only works as an entrance valve. We waited over 10 hours and her belly just swelled and swelled to the point that some of her stitches were pulled really tight. She has also vomited a little a few times and we realized her stomach was all full of bile. So the tube is currently working to give her some relief and to try to keep her from vomiting more bile and possibly apirating it into her already fragile lungs.
Her lungs have been much better so thanks so much for the prayers. We added her regular pulmonolgist to the recovery team and he had a few new ideas. Also our favorite nurse was back today and she realized that no one had ever checked inside of Laila’s nose and it was so dry and even had blood and so once she cleaned it out it helped a little too.
Now the plan is to keep her comfortable, get her belly drained and wait for Charlie Brown to wake up and we can start our road to home when all those things come together.
In other news, I really really miss my big kids. I’m thankful for FaceTime and everyone seems to be doing ok. We have several people helping with them and we are so grateful. And they’re even getting to have a little extra fun :)
