Laila has been able to remain in her regular room since post op alright they changed her to a bed that is ready if they need to take her to ICU at any moment. They had to increase her morphine does again but she is resting comfortably. she has been battling a fever on and off and is very sweaty which = stinky. They drained a whole liter of yuck out of her small intestine last night in surgery.
Since they put in the central line they are able to being TPN feeding through that until her body is ready to go back to tube feedings and regular digestion. She has had no nutrition for over a week so this will hopefully help her body get stronger too.
Today needs to be a very quiet, no stimulation day for her which stinks for the other kids being here in town but we will take turns letting them sit with her quietly. Our kids are so stinkin amazing and I know God created each of them uniquely and beautifully.
Oh the love we feel from all of you is just overwhelming. Peace that passes understand and faith and hope for each new hour. Thank you! And Thank our amazing Father in heaven. There have been things that He has continued to show us throughout this week and even this past year that has reminded us the He is here with us. Is this our favorite plan He has ever had? Uh, no! But we do know He has a plan for us and a plan for Laila and we are so blessed and privileged that He chose us to be used by Him. Please, let us encourage you to trust in the Lord at all times and lean not on your own understanding, we try in all our ways to acknowledge Him and he is making our path straight one hour at a time.
Look how fun her room looks and how loved she is!
And please say a happy birthday to my amazing husband. Absolute best dad ever and I’m so grateful God chose him for me and for our kiddos.
