Our home study is updated, approved and getting notarized tomorrow! Thanks again to Darla for tackling another task with us! India is a lot more particular about their paperwork and known for making a fuss and delaying things over a small wording so Darla has worked very closely with the expert India staff to hopefully make it just right.
We got word that we are receiving the Brittany’s Hope grant for Ranjit for $3000. This is the matching grant where we raise $1500 for them and they send us $3000. We weren’t sure if this would happen because it doesn’t just transfer from one child to the next and had been specific to Ashenafi. We had to go through the process again and were approved! Yay!! Jack is planning to sell his motorcycle for this grant. $1500 and it’s yours as a tax deductible donation!
Also today we found out that we are again receiving funds from Holt’s special needs adoption fund (SNAF). India only gives $1000 (Ethiopia had given $2000) but the great thing is that India’s fees are $540 less and then they discounted them another $2460 for his special needs. The total fees we owe to the India program are actually less then our grants received so far. God is good :) Now if travel, home study and immigration weren’t so expensive! None the less, are are SO blessed!
Tomorrow I will walk Jack through finishing the I800A for immigration and preparing the notarized home study to send for state certification. I’m currently out of state for the month with our youngest daughter for a therapy camp so I had to give up a bit of my control and trust him with paperwork. I know he can do it ;)
So now we will just continue to gather dossier documents and pray for a way to get that two month waiting period lifted for us. Thanks so much for you prayers so far!
