His Voice

I heard my son’s voice.  I know it might seem like a weird thing but it was just the best thing in the world.  We had a video of him that we got with our referral but it was from 2009 and he was doing a lot of activities in it but I never heard his voice.  Again, I know it sounds crazy but it feels like he is real now.  In the video he is playing with a little train set and there is a clock on it and he points to the numbers and counts then he sings a little song (in marathi) and says what I think might be like a nursery rhyme.  Oh, be still my heart.  He is really a real child there waiting for us.  This is really going to happen and instead of that possibly making me freak out, it makes me want to play that video over and over and over until I hear his little voice finally here in our house (and then just like every mother, one day I’ll tell him to be quiet ;) ).  This video was such a gift and such an incredible tool for our attachment to him and it eased a lot of anxiety about what he is truly like.  You look at pictures and makes assumptions and guess as to who your child is.  While this was only a small bit, at least it was a glimpse and I will take it!
