T-Minus Six Days

You guys are a bunch of prayer warriors! We received our copy of Ranjit’s passport (Ranjit Judah Hamstra to be exact ;) ) today!! AND the med center emailed us back that it was no problem to move our appointment back a little later to give us a better chance to get there from the airport! The US Embassy however….. still has not returned our emails or emailed me the confirmation of the appointment I supposedly scheduled last week. I dread the thought of calling again. I’m giving them one more night and sent them a THIRD REQUEST email today so I’m hoping to wake up to an email with an appointment confirmation in the morning. If not, I will be staying up again tomorrow night to try calling again….ugh!
Today I……
- emailed the embassy again
- called Verizon to verify our international calling capabilities ($1.99/minute. $.50 to send text $.05 to receive)
- typed up letters of medical treatment authorization for our parents for Laila
- went to bible study
- informed teachers and piano lessons of the kids absence
- washed Ranjit’s clothes and got his dresser all set up. It felt like washing my baby’s clothes for the first time (except bigger ;) )
- got interviewed for an adoption video our church is doing for adoption awareness/missions month. When they watch it we’ll be sleeping our last sleep in India without Ranjit.
- finished schedules and instructions for Laila
- prayed over Laila and her nurse for safety and care while we’re gone
- cried
- had lunch with the Tuesday Hamstras (& Meeters and Thomasons)
- gave E&J their first dose of malaria meds. Theirs is mefloquine taken once a week and starts a week before we leave. Ours is doxycyline taken once a day and start 2 days before we leave.
- continued trying to figure out grant payments
- set up people to make lunch for the adoption seminar participants
Tomorrow is another day. Hopefully one that will start with an embassy email! Calling all prayer warriors!!
This time next week we’ll be boarding the plane!!
