T-Minus Four Days

FOUR!  It is truly unbelievable to me that I am actually typing that!  We’re also playing that “this time next week” game with everything we do :)  This time next week I’ll be two miles down the road from my new son.  Wow.

Today I

  • woke up to our appointment confirmation from the embassy in my inbox!!  At the bottom of the email there was a note that as of Sept 27th they had created a new, better way to schedule appointments.  You can either set up an account and schedule them online or there is a non-international number for people to call from the US and it gives you options and you can choose someone who speaks English (real English!).  So friends in process, if your agency doesn’t have the info I can give it to you.  Holt families, Mary is updating the guidebook with the info but I’d be glad to give it to you too.
  • got the boys all packed.  So fun to say boyS!
  • unclogged my kitchen sink and cleaned my shower heads.  nesting/procrastinating.  I heard a blog post once about how we never think that we NEED to get to that load of laundry until we want to procrastinate something else.  I hit that today.  Plus I just needed a little break from everything adoption and wanted to do something “normal”
  • confirmed some of our hired cars and requested a few more
  • separated all the snacks and travel stuff I bought yesterday into “carry on stuff” and “checked luggage stuff”
  • got the girls haircuts
  • shooed the kids away from the snack food suitcase
  • sent our signed paper to Holt to disburse our Show Hope grant
  • worked everything out with Laila’s other therapy center for her later Thursday appointments for the next two weeks
  • met with the big kids teachers about them missing school.  SOOO thankful for their teachers and their school being so on board with this.
  • worked a pie sale table at school
  • prayed over two dear friends and the different situations God has them in right now.  no need for details but you can pray for them too :)

Tomorrow evening Emma and I leave for a girl scout campout for the weekend.  Glad for a little retreat with her and thankful God has been expanding my time (even if it does mean waking me up SO early).  I have felt peace and not overwhelmed this week.  this is not me but all HIM!

Our friends have organized a time to pray with us on Sunday at 5:00 at Grace Fellowship if you’re interested in coming.  We’ll take all the prayer we can get!
