Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
—2 Corinthians 1:3-5
This morning was a morning of beautiful connections.
My friend Alyssa battled cancer a few years ago and this lady saw her while we were at the market and was overjoyed to see Alyssa healthy and alive. Her smile and joy were priceless!
She then shared that she recently lost her 20 year old daughter. She cried as she told us of the loss and heartache. Alyssa shared of our loss of Laila and the woman and I were able to cry together over our shared grief. Then Alyssa led us in prayer.
In one instance one person was healed. In other instances others were not… not in this world.
Oh how the Lord works! If Alyssa hadn’t been healed, I would never have experienced that special moment with this Ibu. And if Laila hadn’t passed, again, I would’ve missed this connection.
Please re-read the scripture from above. There is purpose in our suffering… whatever the outcome.
He gets all the glory and praise. Always.
