Go Through the Garbage

Sunday, August 2, 2020

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

—Isaiah 43:2

These two pictures are from the same beach, in the same day. Perspective changes everything, right?

If we didn’t walk through the garbage piled up from high tide, we wouldn’t get to enjoy the beautiful sand and the oceans waves.

We could’ve stepped up to the edge, saw how dirty and gross it was and decided it wasn’t worth it.

Anyone feel like that’s life sometimes? I wonder how much beauty God has for us that we miss because we don’t want to wade through the tough stuff first.

Or how many times can our eyes only see as far as the garbage we’re in and we think it will never end. But if we would just hold on a little longer and go a little deeper, He will reveal the beauty to us.

I’m not sure what kind of season you’re in right now, but hold on, dear friend. There is beauty. I promise.
